Specific Job Related Duties

A research associate I position is available immediately to study immune response to emerging RNA virus infection in animal models and cell culture. A minimum of bachelor’s degree is required. Prior experience in cellular immunology and/or animal experiments is preferred. The position is responsible for performance of Taqman RT-PCR, real-time PCR, flow cytometry, and ELISA on various samples from experiments. Animal breeding and some laboratory maintenance are also required. He/she must be willing to work with infectious agents at BSL2 and BSL3 levels, well organized and be able to work both independently as well as part of a team. Interactions include those with graduate students and Postdoctoral Fellows as well as other staff.
