Salary Range

From $45,600 To $57,000 Annually

Specific Job Related Duties

Works as a member of a team to communicate ITS opportunities and accomplishments to diverse stakeholders, and to enhance the quality of translational science through effective communication. Uses a variety of tools to secure support for ITS programs, raise awareness of translational science, and engage in bidirectional communication. Must be able to meet deadlines, coordinate multiple projects at once, and adapt to changing assignments and priorities.

MAJOR DUTIES/CRITICAL TASKS:

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to:

  • Research and draft stories and informational summaries for lay and scientific audiences
  • Proofread and edit for content, clarity, voice, and format
  • Prepare and distribute announcements electronically via UTMB and consortium venues
  • Prepare and distribute letters of support and collaboration for grant proposals and funding opportunities
  • Create and edit slide and poster presentations

Must have strong computer skills and demonstrated ability to:

  • Design, create, and maintain websites and social media pages
  • Create interactive online training modules, forms, and templates
  • Create and manipulate files using Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, and Excel
  • Use electronic systems to track and summarize publication of journal articles

Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to:

  • Solicit collaboration by faculty, staff, and community members in a variety of programs and events
  • Solicit, track and organize information from community members, faculty, staff, and collaborators
  • Organize and maintain electronic file libraries and respond to requests for information
  • Take, document, and maintain a library of photos
